Aspen is a very soft-spoken and mild girl, never one to raise her voice and yell. She tends to stick to the background and doesn't stand out much, being a reserved, kind girl. Because of her wall-flower attitude she doesn't have any friends and mostly keeps to herself, generally ignored by her classes. Whenever she is noticed it generally involves the fact that she is smart and doesn't mind teaching others, should they ask. She never minds being ignored, satisfied just reading in accordance to her timidity. Though she is obedient and doesn't mind listening to others, even she has her limits. As she is very tolerant, these limits are hardly breached and people ask favours of her. Her naivety causes her to overlook the fact that she's being taken advantage of, never being good at saying 'no'.

Aspen is petite and perhaps a bit too thin for girls her age, her skin having a pale glow to it. She appears a frail, delicate girl who would fall apart at the slightest touch, despite being fairly durable. She has long, pale blonde hair and ice blue eyes. Her features are delicate, but would look better if she were more filled out, but nonetheless she's pretty, despite not having the confidence to admit it to herself. When she is around people she always has a smile, subtle and hollow, dropped the moment she's by herself. She has a scar starting near her neck and running over her shoulder and collarbone, closer to a collection of scars that goes to a bit below her collar bone at her chest.

Her mother never intended to have Aspen, but ended up keeping her for whatever reason. Kayla ended up in a bad position a few years ago and ended selling her body to make ends meet, until she managed to get a hostessing job on the side, still having to sell herself off. She indulged in having Aspen, but was by no means a good mother, constantly neglecting her daughter on a good day. Her mother would frequently come home drunk and beat Aspen, who never uttered a sound, never blaming her mother, simply waiting until it ended. When she had turned 10 her mother came home excessively violent and threw a vase at Aspen, catching her at her shoulder/collarbone area. Aspen tried to calm down her mother, to no avail, until she eventually passed out from the blood loss. Someone had passed by their house and heard the sounds, worried, the person looked into the window and called the police and an ambulance. Kayla was taken in, given her sentence and placed in rehab for her drinking problem. Aspen rested in the hospital until she was released to child services. She was shuffled about between different family members, all of which had some excuse for not keeping her with them, to avoid admitting the fact they simply didn't want Kayla's daughter burdening them. Her final relative, her aunt, allowed Aspen to stay with her, not minding in the slightest. When she decided on the high school she wanted to attend she asked to live on her own to attend the school. Her aunt reluctantly allowed it. Aspen found a cheap house and her aunt insists on paying for the rent and utility bills at the very least. Aspen herself, found a job at the library and works diligently, while also keeping up with her studies.

A pretty calm all-around likeable guy, no one really dislikes him because he gives them no reason too. He's popular and gets on well with people, though that doesn't change the fact he's still a guy. Girls like him because he isn't a total jerk but also because of the fact he refuses to date anyone. As far as intelligence he's average, but that's mostly because he's lazy and doesn't apply himself. Whatever he does, he does well but he never gets a big head. He's pretty grounded and down to earth, also polite to everyone until he has a reason to dislike them.

He has facial hair which he keeps neat, and he cares about his appearance never looking overly sloppy. He styles his hair, mostly to keep it out of his eyes, but doesn't obsess over it. As he desires to be a pro tennis player, he has done harsh training and has the muscles to show for it.
